Why do other parents love to be in your business about how you raise your kids?

la reigne de sarcasm asked:

I’m tired of people saying I’m too hard on my 19 month old, but she can talk well, and she understands as well as a three or four year old. Of course, she doesn’t get in trouble for scattering toys everywhere or just being a kid doing harmless stuff, but when she does something off-limits or dangerous that I have warned her about more than 3 times, I ***** her little ****. Honestly, I can care less what you organic granola growing mommies have to say, my six year old is living proof consistent and firm discipline works. He acts older than his age, and is very intelligent and mannerable. I haven’t had to ***** his **** since he was three or four because I gave him home training early on, and instilled basic discipline and respect for elders in him as a younger child.

Anyway, no matter what, I catch hell for telling my baby girl even a firm NO or GET OVER HERE, NOW! What should we do for kids? Coddle them into adulthood and never set and reinforce boundaries?
