What is the appropriate way to wish senior citizens Merry Christmas and Happy New Year?
Gem asked:
Should you send a card, call on the phone, IM , e-mail or text?

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Holidays….they all work no matter how old or young.
It’s a little late for a card unless its an e-card, IM…gee, I don’t think so, email and text are so unpersonal. Phone call. Def the phone call.

If one can go personally to see the elders, perhaps this is most appreciated,
but realizing that is not possible for many, any of the methods mentioned above
would be grand.

My husband are 75 and in our Autumn Years.
We have received cards - a gift of a beautiful scenic calender in the mail. Friends have sent emails. We have been delighted with them.
I myself have appreciated - last minute phone calls from some of my distant relatives.
Last night a friend dropped by.
Most of all I think I would chose the phone call.
Text is not personable and I don’t text.
Hope I have helped some.
DeeJay - wishing you a Merry Christmas.

Call them. It is the better choice. My opinion.

That depends on the individual senior citizen. Personally,a card is the nicest way,but I’m very, very old.

Tell them Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year any way you wish. If you can go tell them in person, that would be the greatest!

I still like receiving a card via snail mail. And, if there is time, a follow up phone call is extra nice this time of the year!
