Sounds ‘old school’, but the truth is timeless: Be very honest in all your dealings. The good reputation is worth everything.

don’t marry a girl with boobie implants.
when we went on an airplane, both ******* exploded and killed her instantly, and the passenger in front of her.
we were married 60 years.
it was sad, and a mess also.
there was fake boobie all over the cabin, the ceiling, everyone.

Ray - You are carrying a heavy load on your shoulders, Handle it with care.
Be all you can be to the best of your ability.
Have a plan for life.
Conduct yourself in a manner to build good memories.
Be well informed - contribute to your community - give of yourself.
Be who you are and count on yourself and enjoy the great feeling of self satisfaction.
I want to share the following with you. These words help me everyday.
~~~~~~
ATTITUDE
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, gifted-ness or skill. It will make or break a company . . . a church . . . a home.
The remarkable thing is, we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past. We can not change the fact that people act in a certain way. We can not change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. And so it is with you . . . We are in charge of our attitudes.
“People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in them selves, they have the first secret of success.”
Norman Vincent Peale
~~~~~~~~~~~
“ If you don’t know where your going.
Any road will take you there.”
George Harrison
~~~~~~~~~~~~
And finally:
“Be your own best friend and don’t forget to wink at yourself now and then.”
Diane von Furstenburg
Hope I have been helpful - read these often.
I would suggest to study more, and not be satisfied with just what you take away with you from highschool.
For there is so much more to learn, that isn’t even taught there. I have learned so much more doing research through the internet, and from foreign internet friends, than I ever learned in school. I have also
learned with the course of exchanging conversations, that we here in the states are taught on a lower
level than students in other countries. And they are so much more educated by the time they enter ‘univer-
sity’ as they refer to upper education, than we are. When I see now, that the younger highschool students
aren’t even encouraged to learn to write cursive, I am appalled. For there will be more times than not,
where handwriting will be necessary. Especially in signing ones name legibly, and with style. My grandson
is sixteen, and he can only print. His teacher feels writing is a waste of time. I have heard from other
parents on this same issue, that live across the states, that have seen this same thing going on. What
if they weren’t able to use any electronic gizmo that did their writing for them. How would they be able
to write if necessary if they didn’t learn how?
Secondly, know how to use math for everyday purposes. And that you know how to enter and figure out
bank balances in a check book, or a ledger for finances. Upgrade your knowlege of the trades that
interest you to persue. If going to a secondary school or business school will enhance your knowledge,
plan to go. Right now, finding a good paying job, is very hard, due to the competition. So it will pay to
learn as much as possible, to increase your hiring ability. There are college graduates out there
who have had to settle with lessor paying jobs due to losing their corporate powers when businesses
folded. Many jobs now, wouldn’t require a degree to achieve hiring. And one takes what they can get,
unless they have an edge over the others lined up to work. Be the best that you can be, for any job
occupation. Strive to do better and be a better citizen. Care more for your fellow man and neighbor. And
when or if you marry, be involved with your children. Learn to play and be active with them. Not like past
generations, when children had to play alone, because a parent was either too busy, or working away
from the home. Being an active involved parent, is much more important to children than one thinks. It’s
how they will perceive you when they are grown, that will stay with them forever. If you show disinterest
when they are small, they will later lose their interest in you, and lack respect. I learned that, from ex-
perience. And if I could do it over, I’d put them before my housework, if they wanted my attention. I
really never knew they did, until they were grown. So I learned too late, what you can learn now. Always
be an interested part of your childrens’ lives, and they will be devoted to you forever.
1. You have TWO ears and only ONE mouth for a REASON. Think about it.
2. DO work; don’t MAKE work. … there’s enough work that MUST be done, don’t go around looking for extra stuff to do!
3. To quote W.C. Fields: If at first you don’t succeed, QUIT. No sense being a damned FOOL about it.
That’s all I can think of at the moment.
Have a Seasoned day.
Most of what I would say has already been said, so I will just that I wish young people (some) would stop calling everybody and everything ***. A few mos. ago a group of us Red Hat ladies entered a restaurant and two 20-something couples entered right behind and one of the guys said to us O, you are so *** What the heck? I wish I would have asked him if he wanted to take it outside.
Learn much, Work well and Enjoy.
In your early years, Learning is much easier - you learn retain quicker. This is really your job through your 20s. Enjoying is secondary. Work is 3rd most.
Your primary activity after Learning is to Work. From your mid 20s thru your 50s, One experiences adulthood the ability to use most of what One learns for profit. Learning does continue as One works and Enjoyment for relaxation starts to become more a part of your life.
By your mid 50s - 60s, the energy for Work will taper for some and the desire for Enjoyment will increase. If the acquistions savings during Work phase are adequate, the Enjoyment phase of your life will come earlier. Learning will still be prominent and Work will - hopefully - not be necessary.
Thank you for acknowledging our years of wisdom and experience.
I would only try to tell you that older people have the same emotions and interests they always had, and even if you are 90 and have slowed down, your mind is still functioning.
What is important is being kind, gentle, polite, and using good English language skills.
live inexpensively, learn to budget wisely and save your money, get your MBA (inexpensively) and get yourself a good paying career, be creative, don’t move your residence often, your health is very important, get insurance (home, car, disability when appropriate, flood, etc.) when you have the money to buy a home buy a small starter home first and never sell it. Buy a beater car and learn to fix it yourself. Learn how to fix things (electrical, plumbing), to make things, to grow things and learn about animals. Be true to yourself, stay away from addictive substances (like alcohol, drugs which includes cocaine, gambling, anger, and friends that will get you in trouble as jailtime will ruin your life), learn how to protect yourself. Be aware of radiation (cell phones, wireless, microwaves and tower lines). If you plan to live long and put your good ideas into effect then go vegetarian. Make friends you can depend on and keep close to family. It’s always good to have at least two children. Do community and volunteer work or make donations, and donate to your church and attend there as well.
Take care of your body.
There is just no getting around the fact that you need to eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise. I don’t care how much money you ever earn it cannot buy health if you abuse the one and only body you will ever have.
Take care of your finances.
Owe as little as possible - strive to owe nothing. When paying bills, consider your savings account (or investments) as another bill and pay it first. Economics always sounded like a boring class in high school but many of us now wish we had paid more attention. Younger generations are going to have to be much more financially savvy than any generation before them.
Never stop learning or gaining new skills.
The days of working at one task at one job for 30 years are gone. You will be asked to deal with changes in careers and jobs many times in your life. Be ready to adapt.
Unless its something totally stupid don’t pass up adventures or challenging tasks.
The idea is that you should not turn 50 and say, Damn, I should have taken that backpacking trip to France when I had the chance.
Find something you can be passionate about.
Hopefully you will find a way to earn a living that makes you excited to get to work each morning. If not, then find something that just ignites your interest and get involved.
Don’t be afraid to love someone with all your heart and soul.
My husband and my children have brought more joy to my life than I ever thought possible. Will you get married or have children? Who knows. That’s not the point. The point is to never avoid the possibility of loving someone.
