How do I go about finding work as a private carer for the elderly? ?

lalla asked:

I am 64 years old and still work in a home for the elderly. I have my qualification (NVQ 2 and 3) but the work is getting a bit difficult for me to do. I would like to look after someone in their own home on a permanent basis. Where do I look for that kind of job? I do not want to do agency work. I am in England. Many thanks

well good for you,why not try advertising in the local news paper,as their are lots of people looking for private carer and you sound just the person get chatting with the nurses on the community as they know of people who are looking for carers?evan the GPs ,the care Homes are too heavy and do not give you a minute they get more than there pound of flesh and for very little money also its best to do a one to one and you can give them your all hope you get something soon take care and bless

well since this is going to be a one on one deal i would rely on networking == start asking friends and family if they know of and seniors that need help!!
